TED Talk: The next outbreak? Were not ready
This TED talk was hosted by Bill Gates ( weird for the topic, but informative non the less). So this how thing is about how we are not prepared for an epidemic. So he start of by saying if anything will kill millions of people in the next few decades it will be Disease not a war. And then he talks about how terribly prepared we where for an epidemic ( and still are I might add). And the biggest problem with this epidemic is that we had no plan at all to stop it, and we were only able to contain it by pure luck of it not spreading into many urban areas. So Bill says ( and i really love this idea) that we need a Epidemic fighting army. He first says we need to get better heath care systems in place for poor countries, second we need a medical reserve that is ready to get hazmat suits on the ground the second we get word of an breakout, third we need to pair that force with the military for fast transit ( which sounds like me yelling at Tucker the transporter to get Joseph the medic to London, before we are killed out by bird flu having an outbreak), fourth we need to start running germ games ( simulations of disease outbreaks( last time we did the score was germs 1, us 0)), and finally we need to step up are R&D department to be able to begin running treatments, vaccines, and cures right when we get word. so that was it, this was an excellent video and I will be doing more Ted talks ( probably medical) in the future.
