CGP Grey: What are Continents?

It stars of naming the six continents that people of the English specking world are familiar with, N America, S America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and Antarctica. However there are many problems with this those being there is nothing that separates Europe and Asia, Panama Canal is so small it couldn't be considered a divide (it is also man-made) and if you don't count that canal you can't count the canal that divides Africa and Asia, and then Antarctica is a clump of islands, not one large land mass.
Then of course is Australasia a large land mass. then he goes on to talk about plates ( continents for geologist) and that is unhelpful considering the pacific plate ( there isn't even anything there) and a few others that are a few islands and mostly water. So in the end the answer is how many do you want there to be.
